              Invisalign

For many years, the only two options available for people with crooked, crowded, or misaligned teeth was either have a set of shiny, high-priced metal braces installed, or do nothing and live with an ugly smile.  Either way, it can be embarrassing for the person forced to live with the look. It was even worse for adults, who were scared that wearing braces at their age would be a source of ridicule and embarrassment.

Now, a product called Invisalign can fix crooked smiles and overcrowded teeth without the harshness of metal braces, and for that matter, without being noticeable at all!

The Invisalign product uses recently available 3D technology to aid the orthodontist in generating a map of the existing teeth. When the mapping is done, the Invisalign lab makes a complete set of clear plastic trays - aligners - that the patient then puts on. These aligners get changed out every other week with one of a slightly different shape, and over time the teeth are gently straightened and rearranged.

Invisalign works for many of the same problems for which braces were one used, including gapped teeth, crowded teeth, overbites, and underbites, plus others. The technique used by Invisalign is amazingly simple and reshapes the teeth slowly. When you make an appointment to see Dr. Kederian to correct one of these issues, she will discuss with you your current health situation and the things you for work and play to determine whether the Invisalign product is the best option for you. If the two of you agree on Invisaligns, the doctor will then make a mold and take pictures of your existing teeth. When these images get to the lab, Invisalign will develop a set of custom aligners, with the first one being your current tooth alignment, and the last being the desired end result. You will change out the aligners in two-week intervals until your teeth gradually move into proper position for a smile that is both pretty and straight.

Ta Da! No ugly metal braces, intricate or embarrassing widgets, and no surgery. The other great thing about Invisalign is that they often work more quickly than their metal counterparts, reducing the correction time from 2-3 years down to 1-1.5 years.

Using Invisaligns allows your teeth to be slowly realigned without anyone every knowing you're doing it. You can wear them whether your talking or laughing, and remove them long enough to eat, and to perform proper oral hygiene.
